Former casino workers pick up paychecks (Montgomery Advertiser)

TUSKEGEE -- Almost 1,800 paychecks were handed out Saturday to employees of VictoryLand. Workers lined up around the Macon County Courthouse at 7:30 a.m. to pick up paychecks they didn't receive when all areas of VictoryLand -- the gambling areas, Oasis hotel, dog track, restaurants and bars -- closed unexpectedly Thursday.
